Before & After

This project is close to my heart as it was a second home we shared for a few years with another family (now passed on to another family). It was designed in collaboration with co-owner Amber Chang of Huis Collective.

We aimed to dismantle 90’s updates and restore its original 1970’s architectural integrity, while adding Scandinavian influences.

We also added a sleeping loft and stairs where there was once only attic space, only accessible by an exterior scuttle hole and a ladder.

We ripped out carpet and put hardwoods throughout using salvaged wood flooring (much of which came from former school gymnasiums).

We stained the exterior black so it would blend seamlessly into the trees of Mt. Hood National Forest where it sits.

In the bathroom, a plastic tub and surround was taken out and replaced with a cast iron tub and custom tile work using handmade Pratt & Larson tiles.
